The Home Depot’s Path to Pro initiative is designed to help solve the skilled labor shortage in the United States. The program provides resources, training, and networking opportunities for people who are interested in a career in the skilled trades.
What is Path to Pro?
The Path to Pro Program has three main components:
- PathtoPro.com offers information on how to get a job in the skilled trades.
- The Skills Program offers free, on-demand training in English and in Spanish, and educational resources for careers in the skilled trades, building the next generation of trades and construction professionals.
- The Network allows jobseekers in construction to connect with hiring Home Depot Pros. As a free benefit of Pro Xtra, Pro customers can connect with and hire the skilled tradespeople they need to grow their business. It simplifies the hiring process by allowing Pros to easily review candidates’ portfolios, experience, and qualifications. Pros can also post jobs for free.
When was this program created?
The business program launched nationally in 2021. There are over 60,000 unique graduates of the Skills Training Program and over 100,000 candidates in the Network seeking jobs in the trades.”

Is the Path to Pro Skills Program training live or virtual?
The Path to Pro Skills Program is on demand with free, virtual training courses available whenever you need them. Students can go through the courses at their own speed, fitting them into their schedule.
What happens after I finish my Skills Program training?

Is there a cap on enrollment?
No, anyone can enroll in the free program.
